The Fuji Fixed FrankenBike has been great. I bought it from here about a year ago (think I paid £140) as a temporary runaround while I built a new bike. It is way too much fun though and I've hung onto it for longer than I originally planned.
When I bought the bike it had no saddle, a bad (and seized) half link chain and bent-beyond-repair cheap crankset.
I replaced all that with decent Shimano 105 cranks, a new chain and chainring (SRAM s300 ring), a worn but fine fizik aliante saddle and I've given the wheels a true. There's bugger all clearance on the rear because of the tyre size (near the brake bridge) so a straight rear wheel is a must. Also replaced the awful adjustable stem with a new one. Oh, and restraps and pedals.
Details:
Fuji Track frame, CroMoly - no idea of year. Bulletproof. 54cm
Converted to run a Shimano Deore Hydraulic disc front.
35c Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tyres, plenty of life.
Gearing is 48/19
Thompson seat post collar, FSA carbon post
Easton Monkey Lite carbon bars
Restraps with plain 'ol plastic bmx pedals
Did I mention it's half naked? Half rawed frame... I give it a rub with wd-40 occasionally (sniggers) and it doesn't seem to get rusty, just a nice dark aged colour.
