Gah, pet peeve of mine....improperly fitted zulu straps!
The double rings are there for you to double the strap back through so that the short section of the strap is fixed to the longer section. This means that tension on the strap goes through the short section, leaving the part of the strap that the watch sits on remains untensioned and there is no strain placed on the spring bars.
Plus, you don't get the rings rattling and clinking off each other or annoyed by the fact you have a pointless ring sitting there being pointless.
