  • I was joking FFS.

    Though if all went as planned you'd actually not be able to tell if that particular image was shot with a "phone"- or "non-phone"-digital camera / not be able to tell whether I did troll or not, in part illustrating my point why the two should be merged.

    Seriously though - I voiced my opinion that I think it would be right / good to merge, eplained my reasons, and basically no one agreed so far - so be it.

    Have a nice day!

  • Leave alone illustrating, not really for you. It may lead you to make promises that you can't afford to keep. The rest is not bad though.

  • Can't you just put all the photo threads in their own forum, and then they can be different bits within that?

    Where do you get off coming in here making reasonable and sensible suggestions? Can't you see your getting in the way of a good fight.

  • Merge cat thread and post your pets please.

  • Eat more spinach for that and don't forget the pipe. Careful not to put it in front of your magnificent lenses. Keep us updated with the last of your findings.

    Thank you very much for your input!

  • @tiki people already do post phone pics in digital, with no complaints. I don't think the argument for or against is a technical one. But the threads do feel quite different and people like that.

  • Enter your text here...

  • Can you merge marcom's posts up there ^^^^ into one delightfully confusing melange of wtfness.

  • Did you make an autocorrect error as well?

  • Nah, just my usual sloopiness.

    fair enough!

  • Please enlighten us?

  • tina kino, no?

  • basically no one agreed

    So now I'm "basically no one"?
    *sobs*

  • @Velocio, I have a question that might be more related to Android than this forum... But I know little of either...

    So on my Android phone, I signed in with Gmail using my gmail account no 2, and signed in with Email with my gmail no 1*. The problem now is it won't let me log onto this forum unless I signed out and signed in with gmail no 1 that I use for this forum... Any workaround it?

    *gmail no 1 is my primary email but I want to store my phone backups with a far less used gmail - no 2.

    Thanks

  • This is Google.

    The history:
    1) Google used to only work when signed in to a single account.
    2) Google created the multi-account stuff, but to use it sites had to be part of Google

    #2 is the kicker... if a site isn't part of Google, and hasn't been updated (even some Google properties like Google Analytics are still single-account only)... then whatever is the first account you sign in to is the one that gets used.

    On the desktop this is easy to see. Just sign in to Gmail for all the accounts you are signed in to and you'll see that the URLs look something like this:

    https://mail.google.com/mail/ca/u/0/#inbox
    https://mail.google.com/mail/ca/u/1/#inbox

    0 = The first account
    1 = The second account

    If you now visited a site that authenticates against Google, Google will just claim that you are #0, the very first account you signed in with. And you will have no way to assert that you are actually #1.

    Even signing out of #0 won't help, as #1 remains #1. You need to sign out of all accounts, and then sign in with the most primary of your Google accounts first (the one you want to auth elsewhere).

    It sucks... Google have never managed the multi-account stuff well.

    Personally, for Persona, I use a non-Google email for pretty much this reason. And if you want to go this way, then head over to https://login.persona.org/ and set up a new email. Once done, sign in to LFGSS using that and you'll get a new account... PM me the old and new account details and I shall swap the emails around. In future, just sign in using the non-Google email.

  • Think I have an apple account somewhere I can use... Need to dig it out. Will I be able to keep my PMs and other stuff? I am guessing yes?
