not sure if mdf is in there if it is when it gets wet it does tend to fall to bits after a while.
in need of technical assessment here for sure.
the price it certainly a lot cheaper than 'calfee's frames .

The MDF is the frame jig, Even tho it says one time use...
You need specific kind of bamboo, garden centres do not stock the correct bamboo. A quick google comes up with the bamboo bicycle club....this may need investigating.

ok thanks for clearing that up,im going to get one asap..lol.
when i referred to 'garden centre' that was actually a joke !
the jig there must be the one ribble used to use on their steel bikes
suggest taking it to your local snooker centre and using one of their tables for assembly.

quite a few bamboo bike builds on here. nothing to 'lol' about! kit looks like a fair price to me and a great idea as it was a right faff getting hold of everything. i chose carbon fibre rather than hemp for the joints though.
also if you varnish it, it works fine in the wet :)
and yes some of my poles came from a garden centre!
heres mine:

Lynx, in the past you have said you have previously built a bamboo bike. If this was true why are you now asking about it?

The bike I built was different to this kit. My bike just had bamboo for the tubes. Cutting up an old metal frame to supply the metal bottom bracket, head tube, dropouts and seat post collar. Not knowing enough about bamboo, I either used the wrong bamboo, bamboo that wasn't season enough or did incorrect assemble of the ends that the bamboo broke down. The frame became very flexible and started to shred.

I think it is a great idea if a little pricey but then you get all the assembling kit, so bike number 2 would be just the bamboo and the extra bits.
What do you guys think?
