This question has probably been asked before I apologise in advance for this and my lack of bike knowledge.
Can a road bike be turned in to a tourer simply buy adding some braze ons or P clips?? can you buy brackets thats will hold a rear rack?? Guessing the front racks a bit more tricky?
I understand that the reason for dedicated touring frames has a lot to do with strength and not just bits to attach racks. But how much stronger are they?
If you have a nice steal frame surely whacking another 15 - 20 kilos on it isn't going to brake it?
This will put the hubs / wheels under more pressure but I would have thought most modern bikes could handle it?? ( maybe just get a solid back wheel for your existing bike? )
Im not talking about a fully loaded round the world trip I'm talking a couple of days away travelling light??
