• A flat tyre on a wooden track would probably gouge the boards, hence why some tracks have this rule.

  • Yeah I get the reasoning. Just wondered if any in the UK still use that rule? Most seem to have hire bikes with clinchers.

  • Plenty of reasons to chose to tubs over clinchers on for racing at the track. Hard to think of any for road use though, unless you happen to have a support vehicle.

  • Apparently Dan Pearson of Team GB rode Hongfu frame at tour de l'avenir and Tour of britain this year. They were rebranded as Zappi's

  • wow

  • they removed the thread :(

  • I can still see it; its just someone with FM066 showing their bike and people discussing HF bikes .. the guy who wrote that is/was on zappi's team

  • Sorry for really basic question, but I don't really understand the logic of AliBaba.

For example, I'm browsing Deng Fu's section and it seems to me that they just keep listing about 5 basic models a billion times over? Some variety in colours but still.
    http://dengfu.en.alibaba.com/productgrouplist-210306319/Carbon_Road_Frame.html

  • they are just creating volume like supermarkets do so that shelves don't look empty - my wild guess but could be wrong

I have a question too does anyone know if there are carbon rims on the internet 700c without brake surface? purely for track.

  • I doubt they're for track but I saw some for road/CX disc a while back on aliexpress with no braking surface.

If I were building pure track wheels I'd probably go with some road tubular rims.

  • Are ebay Chinese repro shirts/ bibs worth buying for cheap training clobber or should I steer clear?
Castelli knock offs are around £35. If they will do for winter evening rides for a season or two great, if they are just going to fall apart then I will save up and get some of the cheap genuine Castelli stuff.
    Your thoughts are appreciated.

  • @sacredhart the fox one I got top of page 117 seems ok, couple of dodgy stitches but not so bad it falls apart, was more like £15 for bib shorts and short sleeve full zip jersey, you can feel the material is different and stuff tho so I'm sure it isn't wicking and breathing as much but whatever, plan will be to put it with decathlon long sleeve base layer soon

  • A few pages back on this thread there are some reviews of a couple of sellers. Some sounded decent enough for your needs some a bit garbage. Probably worth the trawl

  • Disclaimer - believe mostly related to aligraba

  • alibaba is cheaper for similar products!

  • They're all such a jungle of misinformation though. Farsports 'site is better.

nextie-bike.com have a nice website, great info on their (rather tidy looking) rims.

  • One of the cheapest track wheelsets I've seen - with a proper amount of drilling for track use and brakeless tarck use http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/700c-front-50mm-back-60mm-clincher-fixed-gear-carbon-wheels-track-bike-single-speed-bicycle-wheelset/104831_1532720662.html

  • Too bad both aren't 50mm.

  • dunno if this is the right place to ask or not, but I ordered $465 worth of stuff from the states a few weeks back.

Just got a letter from ParcelForce saying they want £112 to deliver it.
WTF is that about? Is that how much import tax usually is??

    Customs Duty: £36.33
    Import VAT: £67.82
    Clearance fee £8.

    CUNTS.

  • That looks about right to me. There are thousands of commodity codes which relate to Customs Duty and Import VAT is charged at 20%

    But yes, they're still CUNTS

  • Mother FUCKERS.

  • Capital LETTERS.

  • sometimes you can get lucky and its delivered by fedex and you get an 'invoice' a few weeks after delivery which you obviously swiftly ignore

  • tell them it's art then the import tax is 5%....

also, yes, cunts, but it does go towards the NHS (at least telling myself that helped me pay my import tax bill)

  • I dutifully paid mine. Am I a mug? I was under the impression that Fedex were one of the less douchey couriers so didn't want to get blacklisted.
