Why is that gold statue of Nicholas Cage there?

I think the question is, why isn't there a gold statue of Nicholas Cage in all other pictures.

So quick one, after Uran's lack of form in the vuelta, is it too early to call his chances of ever winning a grand tour?
Watching a replay of a stage where he's been dropped and the team are pacing him back to the peloton. But he never seemed to be in the running at all, despite the thinking that he'd be a genuine contender.. -

He was ill.
He's twice finished second in the Giro, which would suggest he's good enough to win either it or the Vuelta. I don't think he'd ever win the Tour.

He was suffering from asthmatic bronchitis and quit the race due to illness.

He came second in the ITT to Tony Martin before illness took hold. Lack of form?

Thanks for the posts, I'm working from memory and I didn't watch all of the vuelta, but just remember him being kicked out the back of the GC group whenever it started to get tasty. And since he was OPQS' leader I was expecting more, was also hoping he'd put the boot into the evil empire by proving there is winning away from Sky..

If a we had a TT rich TDF who would OPQS send? Uran or Kwiatkowski?
-
• #363
I actually think a TDF might be Uran's best shot.

If you've come second in a Grand Tour then you can probably come first; but only probably. Sastre and Evans managed to win the Tour in the end when everything aligned for them and never looked like doing it before or after. It might happen for Uran but like Wiggins he would need a course suited to him, a very strong team working just for him and relatively weak opposition. Grand Tours are funny things, you can come second quite a few times and never actually have had a realistic chance of winning one (barring the GC leader withdrawing).

I think I've got the post Vuelta blues...
Yes. Although I think it was a chorizo?
Thrilling stage.
The worse motto interference ever during this Vuelta - blocking or assisting the cyclists regularly.
