  • Nah, it's not that. They are technically good photos but that's not what Instagram is about. Instagram is all about building engagement, you need to give people something they can engage with and connect to, something they're looking for.

    Bikes work if your followers are into bikes, nice sunsets if they're into nice sunsets, cats if they're into cats etc. Also human interest. Everyone loves a bit of human interest.

    There's not much to connect with in a photo of a railway line or a concrete wall.

    Just my 2c. Not like I'm Instafamous or anything.

  • I totally get where you're coming from and I know I don't interact enough with people on instagram. I must start adding captions.

    I like to explore and search out different places so to me these photos all hold different memories of different adventures, and act as an insight into places others wouldn't necessarily see (or notice) themselves. Plus it gives me an excuse to take photos and play around with compositions and angles. I'd like to think that this was my thing, but obviously my existing followers aren't too interested.

    Maybe I should stop worrying about what others think. I'm happy with it so if other people happen to like it it's a bonus but not a necessity.
