  • Proper nice, them.

  • I believe @jaw has a pair of Meermins in Cordovan, if I'm not mistaken.

  • I think you're right, I've harped on here plenty of times about them because for my mind they're about the best value shoes out there. Not seen any pics of his though...

  • Joe, when are you thinking of ordering? I get paid on the 23rd and would be in for a pair of these:

  • Cool I'm in no rush, they usually don't take the payment upfront only once they are shipping them so we can wait till then. I'll order them and you can just pay me once they ship - ok? - means that postage is half the price so I'm happy with that mate.

  • Whats the best way of softening up a pair of leather shoes?

I've generally found using shoe cream rather than shoe polish effective at this.

  • The meermins do keep it simple. Very nice. Looking again, I see they are overly fussy. The toecap is nice though, on another style perhaps.

  • ^Tony Hares lol.

  • Don't expect to keep your dinner/pocket money.

  • I'd rather buy a pair of Wallabees and get them immediately re-soled with those white vibram soles. The above just look meditacted.

  • horses for courses. I like them.

Could you do that with a pair of Wallabees?

  • why would you? the soles would be worth more than the shoes...

  • They'd look hella better tho...Similar but much better. But like you say Joe, it all opinions; if you like them get them.

  • I know they look a little orthopaedic/supply-teacher but my flat mate has a pair and I really fancy them for winter.

  • Need a recommendation for a place that can replace and restitch the elastic in a pair of chelsea boots. Anywhere SE or am I left with central london options only?

  • Merrifields in a East Dulwich are very good. I had a pair of boots resoled there last year and they did a great job.

  • Ah. Ta muchly. Also very close to home. Bonus.

  • Anyone aware of any maroon coloured boots similary shaped to these sold-out clarksxsupreme desert malis?

  • They're nice...

  • Bog standard black leather desert boot? There's a RastaMan in Brixton market that sells a whole bunch of Clark's/Wallabies/etc , I've been tempted to get a pair of the black leather ones myself...

  • Very nice indeed..

  • Them glossy DBs are tasty ^^^

  • Can this be repaired?
Beloved Jodpur Boots from Sanders, they've given me nearly four years of service with a new sole last winter.
Starting to crack where they bend...

  • Beloved Sanders jodhpur boots have started to crack above the welt in the ball/instep area.
Can this be repaired by a cobbler? I'd hate to have to bin these boots, which have given four years of good service. They are polished every time I wear them, have shoe trees in when they are not being worn, and had new soles last winter.
I'm trying to post a picture, but for some reason the system won't allow it this evening.
