yeh (!), feel better about the dough/bicycle ratio for this one though,
especially in comparison to the near-ish £1k spent on a single-speed build - which is a touch on the heavy side.. possibly from the rims, need to investigate (!!)
first New Year Resolution: commit no cash-money to bicycle builds (!!)
(but it does beat paying off debt though! - bicycles being more of use than £2k less of owings!)

Absolute ridiculous spending, my 853 track frame, woundup tracks, Phil hubs, Sugino 75s etc came in cheaper than your singlespeed.

Classic Penine Steel Framed Racing Bike
An early 1980's handmade steel framed British racing bike in absolutely beautiful condition. This bike is a "Scelta Dei Champions" manufactured in Bradford by Whitaker and Mappleback Ltd.
The frame and forks are Reynolds 531 steel tubing, adonised in red and gold with the right chain and stay fork in chromed steel. You can see the beautiful lug work. The frame is in super condition overall especially as it is over 30 years old. Down tube is 56cm from the middle of the bottom bracket to the top tube and top tube is 54cm.
Running gear is classic camagnolo of the year; a 53/42 chainset, 12 speed with genuine Campag cassette that runs 13,14,15,16,17 18 ventoux. Changer and shifters are all Campagnolo as is the head set and bottom bracket. Brake levers are campag with absolutely beautiful " Dia Compe Aero Gran Compe" calipers.
Upgraded Campag hubs with new Mavic rims. Handlebars are period classic Ambrosio " Campione Del Mondo" all u minion held is place with a really nice black cinelli quill stem. Saddle in a honey leather Brookes B17 with matching black handle bar tape.
A TRULY STUNNING CLASSIC ROAD BIKE WITH COMPONENTS THAT HAVE BEEN TO GET HER FOR MORE THAN 30 YEA THAT CAN BE USED AND APPRECIATED FOR WHAT IT IS.looks like it might have been (much) less expensive to have bought ready-built (!), but perhaps a little less fun than commissioning a build from parts..
