I noticed how much wages had crept up last year. I think we offered up 10 new contracts in between the two reports but it's still a damning indictment of where we are now compared to Chelsea.

That said with 26 players on loan and a first team of 24 I'm not quite sure if it's true - given vermaelen, bendtner, sagna and fabianski have left it would only be the addition of Sanchez's wages.
