Finisterre merino base layers do the job for me, I have a few. They are much longer than my jerseys, 'casual' enough to wear off the bike and hard wearing so far. The branding is unobtrusive and probably removable. The merino is also produced to sound animal welfare standards. They won't give you a 'race' fit mind.
