Nice and classy for a first build!

Nice and simple, probably best to replace the quick release with a proper bolt.

Nice bike. Brings back memories for me. I used to visit that shop regularly in the 80s.

Hey JohnSkagg,
In relation to the clearance between your front tire and your fork, it might be exaggerated if you've gone with a 700c wheelset? It looks like a nice old frame so it probably originally came with 27" wheelset. The difference is minimal (700c = 622mm, 27" = 630mm), but with a set of 27" wheels and some fatter old school tires, it might make a difference to that clearance. -

I think the saddle doesn't go well with the rest.
Otherwise very nice and clean. -

Yeah, i figured this out @beejay7575, just gonna leave it i think. Not overly fussed. Still, great to ride and gets lots of looks when i ride about! What sort of thing would you guys recommend for my saddle @anidel @JT? Cheers @Denim,Merckx, very pleased with it :D

a black San Marco Rolls or a black Brooks Swallow ?
Or,and I think it might be even better, a Brooks Cambium C15 (which is black as well)
-

Tad expensive :D but you can find used ones cheaper and in great conditions at times
-
• #18
Glad you can!
I would personally go for the Cambium, but it's of course your choice!Mind, I never tried one, but it looks more modern. The leather ones would look a bit out of place on your bike

^/^^ I personally found the cambium very uncomfortable (you may not of course), haven't tried the one with the cutout. i would try a black brooks swift.

The Brooks swift is a good call indeed.
Heres my bike, first time build, not quite finished yet, bought the frame off of eBay. Just wanted to know your thoughts.
Sucks that I have a huge gap for my brake callipers.
Any suggestions/ whatever would be great.
