I still want a '76 Porsche, they're not getting any cheaper though

Coys sold a 76 Carrera for less than £250k last month. How much cheaper do you need? It had incorrect flared arches and the wrong wheels, but that wouldn't cost much to put right.

Bumpers and wheels are vile.

Correct for the year though? Earlier bumper is nicer, but would be making the car look (guessing) '73ish?

The 74-77 2.7s came in 3 flavours : 150bhp (Vanilla 911), 165bhp (S) and 210bhp (Carrera). That's the slowest one, nothing worse than that. I like it a lot. Cookie cutter wheels are about to become very cool, bandd is not hip.

Now if only he'd take a 20 year old Volvo in exchange.

everything is just about ready to go in. one more weekend and it will be done. i need the current lump to make it through donington in a fortnight. it sounds rooted and i won't be surprised if i am on a flatbed home...

i wish i went down the V8 route, now...

Lotus Elite type 14. My father has owned this car since before I was born and I've never seen it on the road. Now finally restored to full glory and it looks exquisite.
