Predictions?
Unlike everyone who reckons he's a cert. for 51k I reckon a tyre will let go at 10k and they'll have to restart. He'll then miss record by less than 1k and spiral into depression, culminating in a drug-fueled binge related killing of all his ex team mates.
Or he might just crack the 50k.

The tunnel vision from the severe hypoxia caused by pushing so hard for so long will cause him to be unable to see his legs, and so he won't be able to tell them to shut up.
A valiant 49.75km (and a new record, but not quite 50k).

It has to take longer than an hour - you complete the last lap and then your average speed is taken to work out the distance. Just like a CTT 12 or 24hr time trial.
I've said elsewhere that with his stated power of ~370w and a likely CdA of >0.23 he'll do in the region of 50-51km, but I doubt he'll go much over 51km. The slight altitude of the track is worth a few extra metres too (anything up to 800m, depends on other atmospherics).

Since there's only an Obree thread and this might all kick off over the next couple of years with Jens, Spartacus, Wiggo, etc all tempted to have a go I thought a dedicated thread for this lovely event might be nice.
5:30 on Eurosport coverage begins with kick-off at 6pm tonight.
