Two questions:
Why, if, my printer needs magenta and yellow does it refuze to print a black and white document?
Where is the cheapest place on the high st to buy brothrr ink? (Im at work atm with no chance to check)
Because the printer is a loss leader and they need you to buy cartridges reeeally often.
Look in 'Printer Properties' or 'Print Setup' for a black and white option - if it's HP you'll need to leave the colour cartridge in place - works for my Deskjet 1220 and other ancient HP devices...
A quick ghetto hack might be to fill the empty cartridges with water.
Home printing is a waste of money - far cheaper to pay by the page in a Prontaprint or similar.
