  • Steel is real yo!

    I had Aluminium MTBs, then got some steel dirtjump bikes, ending with a single speed steel jump bike. That experience turned me onto both steel and riding singlespeed, and I haven't bought an aluminum bike since. And as everyone is pointing out, aluminum does not necessarily equal lighter.

    My point is with this thread was that I find steel a better more comfortable ride, steel is less likely to completely fail when it cracks and TBH I find them more attractive. Ally frames don't have some of the beautiful lug work etc., like some fine steel frames do.

    BUT this is my own opinion
