Great find. Why are you 3D printing the gear levers?

I was thinking Shapeways since they do metal 3d printing, but I can at least get the plastic mock-ups done there to test for fit and size. Do you have any other recommends?

SRAM? I'm really confused about what to do first. Is there anything I should know? I want it to look vintage. Nothing round and new, all squared and beautiful. Old things made new. Possible with SRAM?

So I've been stuck thinking what to do first.
I realised I also have these campag levers too, thrown in with the frame! Some little screw is missing from one of them though. Anywhere I can get spares for these or unlikely? Need hoods too.
I think the biggest thing is the chain set, so many options and most look really ugly! SRAM actually look good, but they're mostly black and too modern I think. This bike is old! It needs old stuff or at least silver.
Is there anything like a vintage super record I can get my teeth into? They look amazing.

I have been offered a Shimano 600 groupset, if the price is good I will take it! Better than buying an iPhone 6.

do you have any idea who made that frame? i have one almost identical and have been trying to find out for ages

I asked the guy I bought it from @Dogtemple and he said after researching himself for a fair amount of time he came to no conclusions, not the answer you want, but all I have!

Da gen 1 rear mech if it runs well and not shagged out is worth some money.
I'd decide weather your going down tube or sti shifters pretty sharpish as it will decide most of your purchases right away.
For an 80s bike id consider going for an early 90s 600/ultegra/da group, old 8 speed is bombproof, period looking enough (7400da is sexy for shimano), but works very very well.
Older campag is cool too, but you often pay either not a lot or too much for it depends who you get it from. -

the build looks identical to a frame i have labelled "J navarro". same fork crown, chainstay + brake bridges, internal cable placement, seatstay placement and lugs. Mine is vitus tubing though, hope the build goes well
Here's a new project I'm starting, my neighbour just moved out and offered me this hand built Italian frame made of columbus tubing for a mere £15. Then he through in a Campag front derailleur, Dura Ace rear derailleur, seatpost, bottom bracket, brake levers, headset and 1 x 700C wheel (missing 1 spoke, but otherwise great condition).
Everyone has said to me "there must be something wrong with it", but genuinely, there is nothing wrong apart from the paint job needing a respray.
So, let me show you this beaut!
Front
Rear (yes I also bought some black converse from him! Proof it was £15)
I feel lucky to have the chance to get this thing back together and so far have only shelled £15 for it. I am buying Cinelli handlebars and cinelli quill stem from him for another £20 as it's a pretty great deal too.
I've never built a road bike, only single speeds so there's a lot to learn and I've also decided to build some wheels for this beast in the process. I've also heard that mixing Campag and Dura Ace is a sin, so I need to make my mind up now whether I go with one or the other. I'm feeling Campag but maybe that's all the hype I read here.
Here's a picture of the parts laid out (minus the headset, pretty boring to see that):
So I need the following:
Respray + masking (approx £70)
Rear wheel (£50 - £100)
Crankset (£100 - £150)
Cassette (£80)
Chain (£15)
Brakes (£20)
Gear Levers (Will get these 3D printed from shapeways, ~£25)
Saddle (£20)
Tyres (£25 each)
Tubes (£5 each)
Anything I'm missing? Any advice? Any errors in price guestimates?
First stop, respray. I have decided on a dark PLUM colour and keep the chrome parts.
