^ this? I haz... but it's stuck inside a frame. I have treated it with WD40 for a couple of weeks now but to no avail. When it starts freezing (top tip from SimplexNL) I'll put it outside to see if it gets unstuck and get back to you - if you haven't found one before then

yes, and Aluminium and steel are two different metals that contract at different ratios... at least that's what I'm told ;-)

and... think what a tube inside diameter does when the steel tube cools...

You could try freeze spray ,for freezing pipes so they can be worked on "live",from a plumbers merchant .
I would also be interested in the seat post, I'll take the frame with it , if that's an option
