There might be other ways to do it but I installed the Garmin communicator plugin http://software.garmin.com/en-GB/gcp.html
Then you hit upload on Strava in the top-right, click 'Get Started' under the garmin logo and it should automagically detect the garmin.

How do you upload it to Strava? I bought one yesterday and can't work that bit out!
