I need to connect the optical digital audio output from a blueray player into my analogue amp.

Which blu ray player is it? Is there only an optical connection?

I would be surprised if so, as I thought that the spec required an electrical digital output (which could be split out from the hdmi cable) as toslink didn't have enough bandwidth
