I really couldn't do more than your asking price.
-
• #53
So £395 for the pair? That seems fair - what of the Roadster would you want? The wheels and spare guards are down in Essex in storage (long story) but I could arrange to get hold of them for you
-
• #54
Wheels and guards? Enough to make it ride-able.
Will prob get them both painted nicely at Amourtex.
-
• #55
Makes sense - let me get back to you about the wheels etc, because I need to work out how to get them up to me from Essex! Shouldn't be an issue at all in any case
-
• #56
nice price you've got there!
Two lovely bikes.can't wait to see them re-sprayed.
-
• #57
Cool! In the meantime if anyone else wants the smaller setup please chime in and we can make all make a deal..

What colour?
Navy, racing green, red, dark purple? Gold lug detailing?
-
• #60
good question :)
If it was me I'd re-paint it black with gold detailing (as I think that's the color it came in originally?)
Otherwise racing green? -

Raleigh offered five stock finishes in 1935: black with gold head, all black, blue, maroon or racing green... the green would look amazing, like a real version of the Pashley Speed 5!

I am quite partial to maroon tho.
Maybe a racing green but with a gold/metalic fleck. Tough decision this.

• #63
That would look gorgeous - it's so good to hear you'll be repainting these like I never managed to! I've taken some better shots of the Roadster and will be uploading them shortly. Just wondering how you'd like to go about doing this? I can have the wheels to me here by the beginning of next week, so exchange can be arranged sometime after then. What did you have in mind?
-
• #64
I'm pretty flexible, next week once you have wheels is good. Wheres convenient for you to meet?
-
• #65
I believe emerald is the colour - something like this
-
• #66
nice colour! Well I'm in Stratford-upon-Avon and don't have a car, which is a right pain. Anyway, I can get around on trains just fine if you want to meet somewhere midway - you're in London, right?
-
• #68
That'll look stunning once re-painted.
-
• #69
I don't suppose you've got another set of those handlebars on the first bike you'd be willing to part with have you? Cheers Pete
-
• #70
Theres a few on ebay now. New ones made from alloy or chrome.
-
• #71
The original Lauterwassers are near-impossible to find, but Soma make a 70% accurate repro. If not, try Hilary Stone
-
• #72
Thanks. Been there done that. I don't want a repro pair as they're for my 1951 Rudge Pathfinder
-
• #73
depps, the wheels will be with me by Wednesday, so you know
-
• #74
I'm lost. Can I still buy the first one?
-
• #75
sorry for the muddle - depps is buying both the bikes from me for £395, but thanks for the interest!
That's fair enough - what are the two bikes worth to you as is? Not sure what price you had in mind, so it's best for you to shoot first
