Dunno, it might. Is yours a hiddenset? What size bearings?
-
• #78
Yep, record hiddenset. I'm pretty sure they're 1/8" bearings, but I forget for sure immediately after I buy more. It'll take about 30 loose bearings per cup

Might have to do that to hold me over. 1/8 seems right after a quick google. Cheers

Honestly, good quality loose bearings will be much better and cheaper than any overpriced caged ones, just because you can fit so many more in. Just a bit of a faff to keep them in place when you're installing the fork. i use the original cage on the top and loose on the bottom where they're bearing more weight.

I've found my a23 wheelset to be decent, they were nice to build, and are comfy to ride, noticeably a tad flexier than my other fixed wheels, but those are deep v's. They are a sound choice for a street bike running 25/28 tyres, but maybe stay away from them if your after mega stiff track wheels.

Considering my weight is a bit over 100kg and the frame is alu I want something inbetween.
Might build an A23 wheelset up, if they don't fit I'll just shift them. Question regarding the A23s, would it be possible to fit 25c tyres where a 23c would be pushing it on a rim that's narrower?

If I pack them with good quality greese there should be less faffing with it. 30 balls disperses the weight better for sure.

Shit that looks ace.

spacers gonna space...;)
but its real nice, would need black seatpost and flipped stem and less spacers though to get it in perfect territory..
those 7600 chainrings in charcoal grey would match the rims quite nice too...

A silver stem will really bring it together

Wheelbase on that fella?

Might get a Open Pro CD to 7710 wheelset off of Arun.
I'm dialling it in for now so spacers are going to lessen, stems are getting flipped up and down etc.
I'm with sumo, better a silver stem than black post. Might look for an X4 to try that out.
Cheers tho!

On the commute I noticed that the saddle was too far back, now sorted. Leveled the bars out somewhat (not level with the TT mind). This bike is crazy fun!! Nimble and quick as no other.
Also, the clamp on the Easton DA doesn't clamp all the way down on the rails at the rear clamp. I wonder why that is?
Will measure the wheelbase for you Thuekr.

hmmm reading it back i sound like waldorf and statler.
anyway, plans sounds nice.. you know im a sucker for da7710s and charcoal rims..
silver stem might work better indeed. stem now is a syntace not?

Thrust, that is the sweetest looking cinelli vig I've seen ;)
But srsly, really nice. I would put a vote in for dark grey/charcoal anodised archetypes. They're nicely finished rims and the newer versions have a darker grey than original making the thin black decals near invisible. As a do everything wheelset, especially without brakes they are great.
Black seatpost, silver stem too. Ritchey classic is nice and the painted on decals come off really easily with a credit card or fine steel wool.
