Now that tommy's been banned properly there's hardly anybody here that I really need to ignore ^_^

It would've been quicker if I hadn't spent so long laughing at https://www.lfgss.com/comments/11792456/

when you click on "today" you get a list of threads that have been active today, but occasionally there are @userxxxxx breaking them up.

New users innit, I think filters are on their way
-
• #4656
Does that mean we would be able filter out new users entirely (along with winifrediam1984)?

• #4657
Snotty meant to post in the coffee thread, DJ, sorry.
-
• #4658
Silly one, but in threads when a post is a reply it says "in reply to (username)", and you click their username it takes you to the post. On forum view it says "thread started by (username)" and it takes you to their profile, not the first post. Inconsistency in click-on-username behaviour.

What happens when you @someone from a thread they can't see?
Who doesn't play polo and wants to help me test it out?
-
• #4660
Oh hai
-
• #4661
But I can see the polo forum
-
• #4662
Just posted in the gated community that is the London polo (ex sub) forum, does it show in your feed, can you follow the post to the thread?
-
• #4663
Can't see it in my feed.
-
• #4664
Well that answers that question... That's good... Although not what I hoped!
-
• #4665
Sounds like you need to CTRL+F5 as both are working.

Yeah, that gets me too.
I've just changed it so that "in reply to" takes you to the comment, and "@profile" takes you to the profile.

Nothing should happen.
It will still link them, but you only get notifications about things you are allowed to see.
-

Those users are new today, or have updated their profile today.
Today shows everything that has changed... today.
Sometimes this is useful, i.e. you're expecting someone to register and you want to spot who they are and message them straight away. Or you think a troll is going to create an alias and you can watch it happen and identify them immediately.
It's not always useful, mostly it's just a curiousity, "Oh, someone new".

cheers boss. any chance of 'started by' linking to the first post too?
-
• #4670
For users this makes sense.
But... I was originally concerned about the touch areas being too close together and fat fingers clicking the wrong links. So I'll add it, but be aware that I may remove it if it actually harms the UX.
-
• #4671
BTW, did you get Chris's email about the jersey?
-
• #4672
This is done... moar hyperlinks all over the place.
I really hope fat fingers don't require me to remove them.

Username history pls. Like ebay.
It used to be possible to infer a username's previous incarnations from quotes, but this is not possible anymore.
With people able to, and taking advantage of, changing their usernames whenever they want, it's difficult to keep track of who is who.

+1 please

I'd spend a day changing mine to everyone else's and back again and get everyone else to do the same.
He's not listening to you.
