  • I'm going to take this discussion offline and contact some people right now. Will post an update when we get one.

  • @Chukker_Dredd Do you have my email address? you can use kevin AT lhbpa DOT org

  • Thanks.

  • I am pleased that you have adopted my tag of Chukker Dredd for your new display name!

Also thanks for the Dalston Curve Garden tip, was there last weekend with Vit while we were on baby duties... nice little spot.

  • Oh, yeah, like it. Thanks.

I was at the Curve Garden last night with Remy. Call next time you're there, we live around the corner. We could check out Mapledene Children's Center next time you're in Dalston with Cillian too.

  • Any news?

  • Also, where is the loaner bike in the first post of this thread? Is it still in LMNH Mare St ?
    @thedutch @io

  • Yes, still at LMNH East. Recently 'used' in an exhibition of wheel covers. It's still in the same condition - needing a bit of love.

  • Yep. Still there. I was in the place a few days ago. (Still would benefit from a new headset) if someone has one happy to put on - I have a presser :)

it's been used sporadically by beginners. But I'm not sure if London fields has died now. Do you want to consider something else for it?

  • I've been really busy with work and also dealing with some personal shit, so not much extra energy to chase this fucker. But I'll get around to it this week.

  • Loaner bikes required this weekend for a beginners tournament in Newington.
Can people bring them along (see the beginners thread for details) or make them available?

    Thanks, Ben

  • I will be coming to collect the loaner from LMNH this afternoon or tomorrow morning and returning it next week for a beginners/introduction to polo at Newington Gardens. The main thing I need is mallets for people to borrow, I've been told there are a couple on/with the bike. As many as possible as it looks like it's me and one other running the session.

If this is a problem please contact me on oh 7742612 oh 51

    Thanks!

  • Grab the HH mallets, Ben... Look after them tho'!

  • Ben, if you need another bike you can borrow mine. Someone can collect tomorrow morning from my place in Dalston. I have two or three years-old used mallets too.

  • Thanks for your help everyone, looks like I won't be needing the LMNH bike as Hugo has furnished me with enough mallets to get the kids going. Got 3 or 4 from the beginners crew coming too. Anyone else is welcome! Cheers

  • Update:

Johannes says he was in an accident with that bike and was in the process of rebuilding the other frame I purchased from Maddie to replace it.

We have agreed to take the Archie frame he bought from Maddie along with £100. Ideally this money will be used to build a new loaner, but someone has to take on that task and we need a place for storage. We'll also have to develop a contract for the loaner, which I can do.

For now, does anyone have space to store the Archie frame?

I will accept the money and hold it for a bit. Hopefully someone will volunteer to build up a loaner. If not, I'll donate the £100 to the LHBPA.

  • hey,
can build it up, no problem.
(but someone else to store it; no space here for more bikes and no space in my head for the responsibility. But yes happy to spend time on putting it together)

  • I can store at a bike at mine - very close to Newington.

  • Is this Archie on eBay anything to do with this saga? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201212720754&alt=web

  • Johannes has given me £100. So good on him for coming through with that. He has also offered to return the Archie frame that he bought from Maddie (it's a stock speedway frame that was Iain's).

Jackie, can you take that? Should I see if LMNH will take a dropoff and you could collect? Or I could collect and bring it to you. Or Johannes could drop it directly to you?

@io if you want to build it up that would be great. You could take it directly if you are ready now. I have £100 cash to put toward it, although we could take donations for parts too and pass any leftover money to the LHBPA, maybe keep it in an account there earmarked for a loaner bike.

  • Sure as shit looks like it! Pretty sure I put that dent in the top tube with a bar to the tube during a tournament. Local pickup in London too. I'll email that guy and ask what's up.

  • Yep, that is my old frame. He responded and says he's selling that but will return all of the other parts: Have riser bars/brakes lever/front v brake/stem/seat/seat post and maybe a few others bits to give back.

I guess I'll just take the parts and try to bring this saga to an end?
