  • I ordered the darker pebbled leather as my housemate has the lighter plain leather version. Should be good for most conditions

  • I ordered some Red Wings from Surfdome.
Half price plus 20% off with code (save20), ended up paying just under £92 for Moc Toe 6".

  • Where? I can't see any Redwings on sale...

Still quite fancy a pair of Iron Rangers or Blacksmiths if the price is right...

  • Ah, I ordered them Wednesday night, guess the sale is over now.

  • Any ideas for a boot that I can do a lot of warm miles in, that don't look tosh? Something more like a hiking boot I guess, can't even think of any brands to look for

    <£150 really

  • Timberlands?

  • They decent quality? not a huge budget I know but still

  • Recently picked up a pair of Yuketens, never thought I would do it but they were dead cheap. Basically these in blue suede, their Eric boot I think it's called:

  • Arrived home to a pair of Grenson Stanley's today. First impression was that the tan is slightly lighter than I was hoping for but I'm already coming round to it. A lot less uncomfortable than I was expecting straight out of the box as well.

rutland cycling have a sale on hiking boots and meindl are a good brand

  • I like the look of some of the danner bo0ts - any idea of their qulity?

  • Danner hunting/ranger boots are good quality, don't know about their urban offerings

  • Any leather that arrives a shade too light will quickly acquire a more satisfying tone with regular use.

  • How cheap is dead cheap? And from where? I think those are great. Yuketens have been on my radar for a while but I've always thought they're too spenny..

  • Which Loakes did you get?

I'm amazed at how good Saphir Renovator is by the way. For a neutral polish, it's absolutely great. No shine added, so it keeps matte leather looking great.

  • AltBerg make some very high quality boots.

    Altberg.co.uk

  • Still LOL'ing at carshoes...

  • From the Superdenim sales store Marrkt. £125. Not sure they have any left though.

  • Grenson ellery. Thinking about these for work.

  • So rank with the brogued toe cap and the two fiddly little buckles. John Lobb does that style ten times better (at three times the price mind).

  • Yes. Dub monks are badass enough as it is, doesn't need any brougeing

  • Toecap works though

Would be a good shout here.

On a similar note I'm going to plump for a new pair (or two) or Meermins, so if anyone else fancied some the postage could be cheaper.
