if it had an integrated seatpost and a different saddle it would be good stuff...
I'm not a big fan of cinelli ram as well... -

Oh, I misunderstood your previous point.
I agree with what you say. Nowadays, customers are more likely to get a nicely crafted frame with a less flashy paint scheme, craftsmanship is much more significant compared to a couple decades ago, when builders (and customers) were happy enough with lugged frames and a sweet paint job (maybe a few details here and there too).

Exactly, which is fair enough but in my opinion at least, old track frames are all well and good but it seems this thread drools over them just because they're 30 years old. Not necessarily because they're special.
What do I know? -

I know what you mean. When classic steel is done well though, oof!...

it's pretty hard to get road bike that's not loud these days well unless you got to that steel-vintage.com

I love that Cinelli. I'm not sure I love any of their other modern bikes, but that is 'fully sick'.

"It's overpriced. Here in Amsterdam RIH iron is all over the place. Not porn either."
i'd say the original Menheer Van Der Kaaij Jordaans built RIH, s are the most desireable, and could possibly apreciate financially over time, the serial number was stamped on the head tube, other rih's were not made in the Jordaan shop, but a factory, when the company was bought out, I met the Menheer in his shop, he is now in the north of amsterdam with his protoge Lester, I met him once in the west
lester has breathed life back into the brand imho, and is destined for great things
this is the new RIH in the north -

Well I hope it's going to a good home. :) I suppose like a lot of steel enthusiasts posting in p0rn, the bias harks back to childhood days in the '80s, when I lusted after Roberts/Cooper (etc.) tracks bikes I saw at Herne Hill, when I was struggling round on what we used to call the "Herne Hill tanks".

Yes, but the RIH lower end frames came from a different entity than their Amsterdam workshop. Forgot what the exact story is. Anyway, not all RIHs were born equal :) (you probably know this I guess)

Cool, right in the modern steel bike vogue.
this isn't half bad for a black bike though:

very nice, you can see lesters hand in the finish re the enve's and king, i don't think Menheer Van Der Kaaij would have used them -
