  • Fuck you're not wrong there!

  • Frame and fork - £1500 ffs. That buys you an S2 or a TCR advanced, or a Canyon aero road... Or a bottom end supersix complete build.

  • bike stuff

  • to be fair, this does look pretty fun and decent for the money:

Still wouldn't get excited by it though! Meh, this winter I'll still be riding the fixed through any weather, and if I get my act together a budget build cannondale roadie with crud catcher race blade thingies. Real reason - freelance and no ride to work scheme for me :(

  • Anyway, just go and get one of these Vitus Dee1 or whatever - £375. bargain winter bike.

  • I'd rather convert a skip find 531 thing. Won't someone please think of the children.

Ourys and cut-down risers optional. #2008

  • Ah the joys of semi-horizontal dropouts, a spare chainring and 135 spaced fixed wheel...

  • The budget Charge Plug is now £330.

  • Man the fuck up and ride a Brooklyn
    Edit- not you ed

  • Those Plugs have been getting progressively uglier.

  • None of these are a problem if you have skills, a hacksaw and some axle spacers.

Although 135 is a MTB/touring spacing. Pick frames 130mm and less.

  • Those Plugs have been getting progressively uglier.

Yeah, we'll them doing camoflage-stickered frames soon.....

YES! I have some bright orange Ourys, unused, probs from 08 - wrong place to start to build sweet fixie?

  • Ah, that wasn't meant to be in response to your 531 suggestion, I was just alluding to the benefits of semi-horizontal dropouts removing the need for seasonal bikes...

  • You could probably sell them to kids in Indonesia via eBay for sick profit. Make sure you put 'mash' in the listing title.

  • Oh right. Yeah I'm totally with you. For me forward facing, campag -long, chromed dropouts are the fixed gear holy grail if you ever want to run 'guards.

Over in the hhsb thread 'conversion' is still a dirty word though... as if they're not just a bunch of diy hybrids #sickburn

  • IIRC there's nothing new about them doing a 'pro' allez frameset that had little in common with the nodder-allez. The concept store had one a couple of years ago.

Oh, I've been microcosmd. That was a response to the Allez bashing upthread.

  • My winter bike is currently a 20mm TT tyre wearing steel fixie with topeak clip on guards...... #OG

...... Untill winter actually kicks in. When I'll dig out the 1x10 Ti Fatbike. # Ultimatetrendfollower.

  • @dimi3 Dimi mate, he's taking the piss out of you.

  • Nah, I just jumped on the bandwagon, I think @pooface was the trendsetter. Haters gonna hate.

  • That SS Arkrose looks like my perfect winter/commuter bike (assuming it'll run OK with a 6 bolt fixed sprocket).

  • Is everyone only half reading the Arkrose specs... No one wants clip on guards!

This Bike is unable to take a standard front mudguard due to no eyelet on the fork crown for fitment, however a down tube mounted or clip on style guard can still be fitted

  • That can't be, as there's a mount just under halfway from the drop out on the fork arm.

  • Just realised the spec was talking about the fork crown, not fork arm, whoop.

  • I think they mean there's no drilling in the fork crown - so yes you can bolt the stays to the fork but you can't bolt the guard to the crown.
