... doesn't sound like a retag if it's not in the same place and there was a different foreground subject?
-
• #15553
anyway, it's too cunning a clue not to stand.
-
• #15554
The location of this tag should really be the other end of the channel heading off to the left. Unfortunately it is currently fenced off, and there were some pretty officious looking security bods hanging around. .
-
• #15555
Either way, this is about 2 minutes from my front door :)
-
• #15556
this is where the tag should be.
moar clues?
-
• #15557
Will get it tomorrow if it's still there.

Old: Lock behind Three Mill Studio. No idea what the clue was in reference to.
New: The cinnamon pretzels here are excellent, not too shabby at the small bakery a few doors up too.
-
• #15560
Bah, was just about to go over there as well.
No idea where the new one is. -
• #15561
Nicely done.
Lock behind Three Mill Studio. No idea what the clue was in reference to.
When the back rivers were being tarted up prior to 'lympix bits of the old Euston Arch were found in the river at his point.
-
• #15562
I think the old clue was a reference to the Euston Arch which was demolished and dumped in the canal.
-
• #15563
Indeed, the Euston Arch, demolished in 1962 and used as rubble to fill a hole in the canal bed.
This thoroughly charming little video from 1994 shows a youthful Dan Cruickshank getting very exited about finding the first piece dumped in the Prescott Channel. The rest of it was dug up in 2009 when the lock was installed. There is a campaign to rebuild it as part of the redevelopment of Euston Station.

Well done @Crop, somehow I missed you, but you got your cuppa so all's well. Lanark is my friends coffee place, downstairs is my workshop where me and a coupe of other guys design and make furniture, interiors... all sorts really.
All you bike taggers should drop by for a coffee (262 Hackney Road) and come see the basement where the magic happens (not a euph).
Who should we ask for, though?
'Er ... is dbr in?' :)

In a barely related note, I've just seen Finding Vivian Maier, and there's a bit where the guy who has all her negatives is trying to track down a particular vilage in France from a photo of a church spire. He should have posted on here - someone would have got it in 2 days and then we could have argued about whether it was allowable, and someone could have complained about all her reflecto tags.
Don't forget that someone would have complained that it's a church, too. :)

My good friend was creative director on that hippo.
Is that actually staying?
-
• #15568
The hippo is until the 30 September. It's by Florentijn Hofman of giant inflatable rubber duck fame a few years back.

Back out of hibernation
Old: Melissa, home made niceness.
Camden High St
New: It didn't quite fill you with volcanicity.
-
• #15573
The clue makes that too easy
I'm stuck in work though :( -
• #15574
New clue (not for Phil):
The three little pigs will be happy -
• #15575
On my way there now...
Pretty sure this new one is a re-tag too - of the table tennis table a little bit further down.
