Stop with this 'us and them' bullshit. If a teenager nicked your cab and went on a joyride causing mayhem, you wouldn't call him a cabbie. Just 'cos someone is riding a bike doesn't mean they're a cyclist. The guy in the video doesn't seem very attached to his bike. Looks to me like the taxi-driver parked in the cycle lane, right next to the ped refuge, matey on the bike tried to follow the lane as marked and squeeze past the taxi but misjudged it and there was some sort of collision.

Who caused the scratch is open to question though as the cab moves forward.

Conclusion- drive selfishly, with no regard for other road users and these things may happen.

Anyway, in all seriousness it looks like you parked in the cycle lane, as said up-thread, albeit an advisory one, so I'd say it was your lookout.

If he was hit side–on, the cycle lane doesn't really come into it. The fact the cyclist left his bike and ran off suggests he knew he was in the wrong.
