  • Need more info to be able to help.

    Browser?
    OS?
    Device?

    Have you CTRL+F5?

  • Hmm, I just went wandering off to some other micro.sm sites and noticed that the header image is just a blue text link. Cam back to lfgss and the same thing is happening. Also the avatar images are text links- "Avatar for Velocio". FF31 on windows 8.

  • Screenshots are really helpful.

Though the first thing I generally ask is whether you can CTRL+F5 and see a difference.

  • ctrl-f5 doesn't help. Nothing wrong in chrome.

Can you see the images? I just get the filename...

  • I can see them in chrome! It happened after visiting the rduino site...

  • How very odd.

That looks like all images are not loading.

I'm assuming that some of the CSS images (the speech bubble of "Post a reply", etc) are still cached or available, but for whatever reason it thinks that the /files interface isn't available.

What happens when you visit this URL directly:
    https://lfgss.microcosm.app/api/v1/files/0266d45a0ac7c081b59c9a0213a13a9f0cada494.svg

  • I see a big blue LFGSS

  • I can see the images.

    I've got a hunch.

Is that Ghostery that you're using? Or ABP or something?

We are definitely not serving up "Yandex.Metrics".

Perhaps your adblock/trackblock stuff is getting confused with the domains and it's blocking all stuff from the *.microcosm.app domain.

  • HP laptop

    yes ctrl f5

  • ghostery and ABP

  • Try whitelisting the site for a moment, refreshing the page, and seeing what happens.

  • I think it was privacy badger, it had tripped to block lfgss.micro.sm . There was something auto about it all though...

    All working now...

  • Thanks, we only have an IE8 at hand, so I shall test in an IE9 tonight.

  • @Velocio couldn't see it as a current bug on Github, but i'm still unable to follow people,it says I have followed them but when I revisit it is unchecked.

  • Is it me, or is it not possible to @ mention someone in a post if their handle starts with '_', like Dan ?

    '_', like _dan_, even.

  • Carry on typing... certain characters are ignored if they are the only thing you've typed... by the time you've got to @_d Dan would be on the list.

  • I shall add it now.

  • Maybe it's a firefox thing, but @dan appears on the list, but when the post is submitted the underscores are trimmed off.

  • @dan test +dan

  • Right you are... that there is a bug.

  • Bet @dan is feeling somewhat left out :)

  • Ah, I know what that is.

In markdown, an underscore either side of a word creates italics.

The markdown is processed before the mentions are processed, and so by virtue of that any username that contains characters that could be reasonably parsed as Markdown... are parsed as Markdown.

Hence, when it renders @dan appears italicised.

  • The thing is... we can't process the mentions sooner as we don't have HTML and without us having HTML we don't have an abstract syntax tree to tell us whether or not the mention should be processed.

For example, a mention in a @_dan_ should not be processed.

  • Hah, but then it is.

    FML.
