No-one can @ you, or invite you to events, and they'll find sending a PM to be a difficult task without visiting your profile, which they won't find easily either.
And... some of the characters won't appear on certain devices as the fonts won't support those unicode chars.
But... ignoring all of that. Nice bug, good fix, would fix again.

I now count runes, not characters.
