The section between the max height markers and the fluted part has also been sanded (very finely).

If you can shim this to 27.2 I might be interested

One of these should work.

^ I'm sure a shim for a 25.0 would work. And £30 may be a bit much, on reflection due to the sanding below the fluted bit, plus it being 24.8 now.

(If this is still for sale) how many mm are there above the max height mark?
In need of an awkward Peugeot seat post but wondering if this may also be too small for me.

14cm above max height but at a push you can get 15cm (I've been using it 1cm past max height to give 15cm). Maybe that's naughty but a wiser engineer than myself (me not being an engineer) said as long as the post is inserted 1 1/2 times the diameter in you're okay, providing the frame can take it. The frame is still the same shape.

I've got a 24.8mm (awkward Peugeot size) seat post for sale, as it's too short for me.
Originally it was a 25.0mm seat post and attached to my lovely old Vitus 979. I left the bike with my dad who, upon realising the lugs had come unglued (I was about to fix them...), threw the frame away but kept the seat post. His mate gave him this old Peugeot, without seat post, so he sanded (!!!!!) down my old Dura Ace seat post from 25.0 to 24.8mm to fit. I now have that bike and need a longer seat post. I'll probably get a 25.0 and turn it down to 24.8 on a lathe.
Anyway there must be someone out there who needs a 24.8mm for a Peugeot so shout out. Oh yeah it's 200mm long.
£30 anyone?
