Great stuff, so far we have enough room for the people who've said that they would like accommodating (although not enough beds so you might have to be prepared to squeeze in somewhere or pitch a tent in my garden).
Now we just need to sort out the weather...

I will be arriving on Saturday, could I still sign up for some sofa space possibly?
-
• #30
Yep, that's cool. We have lots of room. We'll post up details of where to meet on the Saturday evening for those coming up then.

Is there free parking near the court?
-
• #32
Yeah there's free parking on the road by the park.
Also, I just had a look on chilternrailways and there are £6 each way tickets on there. There's a chiltern mainline train that's half an hour quicker than normal, it's good

-
• #34
Kat/Mya, put us down for a potential free bed on Saturday night, we should have a spare one if needed - just give us some warning.

hhmm, was just about to book with Chiltern, on the e-booking they have bicycle reservation but it is unavailable for the trips i chose....the website says you can put bikes on the train subject to space availability, so now unsure whether to risk it and still get those tickets or not...
Also, thinking to arrive saturday and return to london sunday, so anyone knows any pleasant but cheap B&Bs? Thanks
-
• #37
I don't think that any of the Birmingham people have ever had problems just taking bikes on the Chiltern railways on a weekend so you should be fine.
Not sure about B&Bs in Birmingham but the courts are fairly central so anywhere nearish the city centre would be fine. But if you don't mind sleeping on the floor/ airbed then I'm sure one of us can put you up, just let me know.

There is a hotel right next door to the courts - http://www.theparagonhotel.co.uk/
this would give you outstanding toilet access, that you could then sell to pay for the room.... -

@Ana_Sanches - i booked with Virgin and you can book a free bike space if that helps... it's the one at 7:30...
-
• #40
Thanks. We booked an apartment next to the NIA. (Not sure if this is a good thing or not but it's just 2 miles away)
@aleksandra 7am ? What day? How much was it. We gonna sort out tickets today hopefully -
• #41
i booked the one for sunday 7:30 with virgin... it was £15.... there is midland one at 7:14 but you can't book a bike space and the train can carry only 2 bikes max- a bit risky...
-
• #42
Hey guys,
on London Midland and Chiltern you don't have to book bike space, you just take it on the disabled/bike carriage. Sometimes it can be a bit busy but it's totally fine and if you're one of the firsts on the train you're laughing.

Thanks Mya. :)
Just booked with Chiltern. Return ticket for £18 per person (London marylebone-Birmingham Moor str). Coming on Saturday (arriving 1pm). And returning to London Sunday on the 20:18 train.Looking forward to hanging out! Drinks on Saturday?
-
• #45
Yup not a problem. We're going to make a proper plan tomorrow night but there will definitely be drinks somewhere on Saturday.

Hey everyone, I think we've sorted out most of the arrangements so thought we'd give you an admin update:
Time- We're aiming to start at 10am sharp! People will be there setting up from about 9am so you should see people when you arrive.
Format- As we said before it will be a shuffle tournament and this will be completely random in the first round and then there will be an attempt to mix up winners and losers for the subsequent 4 rounds. There will then be a play-off for the top 12 players to decide the ultimate 'team'!
Directions- There will be a google map to follow but the main things to know are that the courts are right next to the Paragon Hotel in Digbeth (B12 0PJ). There is some shelter but not loads so bring a rain coat just in case! If we're putting you up on Saturday night or if you want to come to the party, then that will be in the Stirchley/ Selly Park area just off the Pershore Road.
Sunday post-polo- We will be going to a pub near the courts, from there it's really easy to get to any of the stations.
Saturday night- If you're in Birmingham on Saturday night there will be a party at my house from about 7pm. Bring booze and snacks if you've not already eaten!
Accommodation- On the list for accommodation we have:
Kat's house: Fuchsia, Peixe, Aleks and Lizzie
Mya & Matt's house/ Fin's house: Nik, Sylwia, Dagmara, Josie, Maddie
Viki's house: RitaIf you're not on this list and you need accommodation, get in touch. PM/ facebook your hosts if you need more information about where to go.
So I think that's everything, see you all at the weekend!
