  • Great ride tonight, until I couldn't unclip at the lights near Sainsbury Pound Lane and tipped slowly into the grass verge...muppet

  • Happens to the best of us, wear that saddle/tape rip with pride!

  • yeh probably a good shout.. Ill give mine another look over today.

  • Luckily no marks, just always happens at busy lights/junctions doesn't it?!

  • Yeah, running SPDs are particularly precarious, as the right tension to be sure you're not going to pull out of the pedals when you're skidding is also way too tight to be able to clip out at v. short notice. I've resigned myself to that fact that I'd rather be able to clip out with ease than skid risk free. Worn cleats with rounded bolts stuck to your shoes also really help...

  • Also I think my shoes would plain rip in half if I tried to skid properly nowadays!

  • I've got eggbeaters so no tension adjustment...

  • yeh probably a good shout.. Ill give mine another look over today.

Just before you go out and buy new headsets, you guys both have keyed washers between the upper cup and the lockring right? Only thing I can see if that the steerer on your forks is really short, so you're just running the cup and lockring in direct contact, which would cause the aforementioned problems?

  • I've got eggbeaters so no tension adjustment...

Ah I see, that must be annoying!

  • Ah I see, that must be annoying!

It's not too bad as they're about right tension wise - I've only clipped out accidentally one when DAS'ing

  • At least you hit the grass verge. I seem to hit the tarmac everytime.

  • Got my first KOM on Strava! (yes I'm one of those people haha)

  • ^ geared?

  • Nope fixed!

  • Never got into Strava but have a feeling I'd get obsessed with it if I did!

  • ^^^^ Nice, which one? I've only ever managed third. Did have a running one for a while though.

  • It is a bit of a double edged sword, on one hand it's great for motivation and gauging how well you're doing against others. On the other hand every time I flick the Garmin on I feel like I have to hoon it everywhere which takes the fun out of riding a bit!

@jdp The segment was called 'Fanny around flotman' aha

  • :D Now that is a segment name to have.

  • The segment was called 'Fanny around flotman' aha

    King of the Fanny

  • @hudsoncjnr

Haha I feel this needed an image response but I'm too scared to Google it on my work PC!

  • According to google images, this is what a king of the fanny looks like...

  • Take your safe search off and try again.

  • I don't know how! ;-)

  • Pfft, I bet you don't know what CTL+SHFT+P does either.
