Anyone have the Surly Straggler here?
-
• #2253
@BareNecessities does
-
• #2254
I've barely used mine yet, so can't say much about how it handles :-/
-
• #2255
@BareNecessities what size? Any idea of weight?
-
• #2256
Just so I can make sure the hook in the shed can take weight...
fuck off @dan

Pre-empting that pisstake...
-

Ha!

It's a 64cm and it weighs Just under 11kg/24lb ( including guards ).
Heavy for a SS set-up, but I could easily get under 10kg with a wheel and fork swap.

@BareNecessities thanks, that looks like a good size, nice build too
I'm not sure on the geo of the Straggler its all a bit long in the top tube :/
I think I would be a 61cm but no way of knowing really.

That's partly what drew me to it. lets me run a 110mm stem and compact drops, which I'd much prefer for something that has the potential to go off-road.

Blimey, that is some weight for a ss.
-
• #2263
It is. I think the steerer tube is made of lead.
Although considering my other two bikes are 13kg & 14kg and I weigh around 107-109kg, I don't really notice.
I also live somewhere flat :-)

@Zed I've a Surly Straggler which I run SS for commuting, which put ideas of SSCX in my head... until I tried to pick it up. OK, it's got heavy ass 29er wheels on, but oh boy! She's a burly girl.
Ended up picking up a Singlecross cheap - are they shit? I suspect they are shit - with a view to getting muddy. Let's see how that goes...

That Raleigh.
SOmeone put me out of my misery. How much over here? -
• #2275
It's a Raleigh USA bike, which is I believe a different company to our Raleigh, and isn't available here.
I've just saved you a £1500 or more. You can thank me later.
Mmm, true. EBB would be best.
