  • I'm not sure you mean the same thing as me. I mean sliding dropouts where the vertical drop-out slides, and the disc caliper slides with the axle, like so:

  • Seems much more practical than EBB to me.

  • pompino is italian for BJ. important info before you GIS

  • Ebb = 1 moving part
    Sliders = 2 moving parts

    Sliders = good with discs
    Ebb = good with rim brakes

  • Ah. Yes, it would have helped if I'd made it clear I was comparing EBB wilth slots/trackends...

    :-/

  • "Chubbie". Sounds like it should be an Australian freshwater fish

  • Need some rim recomendations, they're going to be built on xt disc hubs, and at least the rear though probably both - 36 spoke count.

    I want them to be tough but not horrendously heavy.

    Current thoughts are either Velocity Dyad or DT Swiss TK 540 which both come in at a little over 500g. I warned off the Mavic a719 due to lack of double eyeletting?

    Any others I should be looking at?

  • Any of the £18 rims from Spa Cycles? They have Rigida, Alex and Exal at that pricepoint. Free P&P over £40 I think.

  • When I looked at the Rigida sputniks they did look rather heavy - almost 700g. I don't mind spending a little more to get something equally strong but lighter

  • A719 is double eyeletted.

  • Archetype?

  • Exal LX17 are Double eyeleted, and lighter than Sputniks.

  • my exal XR2s are not very round. and different diameters.
    would not recommend.

  • More info on this? Or am i interwebz blind?

  • that belongs to skinny on here. thread

  • Thanks @noiser

    Would I be better off going for a 36h disc 29er rim?

  • Sorry for a late reply, but eone is on the case.
    There's also this Croix thread that is worth checking out. Both are very inspiring builds/threads.

  • ^sick!

  • That's not a knife...

  • That's hardly a bike.

  • but very much a re.

  • Many times over.

  • Tubus Tara- good choice for a low-rider front rack?

  • That Bianchi is a dream
