Outside of the extremes—which I think yours counts as!—it seems power balance is completely useless.

No, I didn't suspect, and afterward I simply adjusted my saddle height until I hit 50/50.
So, I found a use for L/R balance - a really expensive method for checking your saddle height is correct.
