  • where them around the house.

  • but we're talking about mass produced clarks here so give them a bash.

A shoemaker on making proper leather shoes will use a heatgun and a hammer to mould the leather on to the last. There is no problem with using a hairdryer and hammer to smash in the top line (nr your ankle).
There could be some extra material in the seam area (either leather, glue or thread).
The heat would help in softening any glue deposits and hammering would redistribute it - flatten it out, reduce the rubbing.

or you could piss on them...

  • Do it. Piss on them.

  • Heat gun? Really? Not a hair dryer?

  • Anyone bought any shoes from CarShoe before? Worth it?

  • yeah i've used a heatgun. was surprised at the amount of heat leather can take before burning.

  • Incoming chevrons from TS in 3....2....1

    :)

  • There literally are not enough chevrons in the world.

Where I live now they seem to be party of the national dress code.

  • What @jaw says. Uniform of the lazy man.

  • What stylish but not overly expensive driving shoes would you recommend?

    I don't recommend, but here

  • Anyone got a pair of Mocks? Thoughts?

  • Lol

  • I've had my pair of mocks for over a year now. Love them and highly recommend them. I wear them every time I go on a beach holiday as they can also be used as jellies.

Although, the first time I wore them out, it wore out the skin on the back of my foot as it was sliding up and down with every step. Easily fixed by sticking a pair of Boots shoe padding.

  • Managed to get the last pair of these in the J Fitzpatrick sample sale. Unbelievable value for £150. Great shoes and the guy behind them is a top bloke with a cool story. For those who may be interested...http://www.jfitzpatrickfootwear.com/pages/story

  • Bought some black double monk straps with a lighter sole

Question is can I wear them with jeans?

I have grey and dark blue wool trousers but for warmer weather/less formal.

  • Oh and winter is coming so in addition to RWs and DMs

  • ^^^ Hmm, upon reflection that post makes it sound like I am the guy who runs the shoe company. I assure you I'm not. Perhaps feeling slightly too excited given how generic the shoes are. Nonetheless, compared to my Jones Oxfords at the same price point, they are in a different league.

  • ^^paraboots , yup.

  • Very very lucky! Probably the only shoe I would buy at full price (not that I could afford to...) let us know how you get on with them

  • +1 for paraboots, they're on my list
