Next question: Is there anywhere in London which has 35mm SKS Bluemels mudguards in matt black in stock?
They seem quite hard to get hold of apart from Wiggle etc, but I'd like to get some today.

I currently have some Pro LT compact handlebars, they are comfortable on the hoods and the flat part of the drops, but not when in the verticle(ish) part of the drops.
I tried some FSA gossamer wing compact bars and they were a better. Does anyone know if they have the same drop shape as the cheaper FSA Vero compacts?
Or has anyone had a similar problem and found a better shaped compact bar.

I just got some Zipp Service Course Ergo-70 bars, they're somewhere between anatomic and compact bars, still with a short reach, and are really comfortable in the 'downhill' position.

Using an ellipsis (…)
So, I just created a bunch of banner ads in loads of different sizes and now the CD wants to change the headline. It's a two part headline, as in there's a transition between the two halves.
I have done this:
blah blah blah ad speak blah blah …next frame
blah blah blah end headline.
The CD wants an additional ellipsis at the beginning of the second part.
Correct or incorrect? I'd err on the side of incorrect but I'm Australian and was never taught this stuff.

I'm not sure if there's a rule for that per se, as if you were writing a normal document there'd never be any reason to use two consecutive ellipses. But that said, you're not writing a normal document, nor using it for the formal 'omission' use, or the informal 'trailing off...', but rather just to highlight the sentence break caused by the formatting. With that in mind, I'd say you're right in just having one at the end of the first clause, but equally, as it's more of a stylistic thing than a grammatical one, it would probbaly be fine to use one before the second clause too, albeit tehcnically wrong to have "blah blah blah ... ... blah blah blah".
Another thing to bear in mind is the capitalisation of the first word of the second clause - you might be tempted to capitalise it if you go with the single ellipsis, as starting with a lowercase word might look out of place, but equally, it could look strange if you made it capitalised as you'd never have an ellipsis followed by a captial letter (proper nouns/abbreviations etc notwithstanding). If you went for the double ellipsis, then you kind of force your hand into starting the next clause with a lowercase, again, unless it always warrants capitalisation.
God knows if that'll help, and I'm willing to be proved wrong, but thought I'd throw in some thoughts regardless.

Cheers thross and doppelkorn. It's basically as you say doppelkorn and it is really a stylistic choice.
Wa more annoyed that they decided this after I produced the same layout onto 16 different specs. I'm not even digital whinge whinge whine ...In any case, I've been taken off it to do some actual design work.

Have double cos where I live it's flat. Always flat. BUT after a recent trip to the hills I regretted not having a compact. Do I...
- Save up and buy a Campagnolo chorus compact 11spd to keep things inline withe the rest of the group.
- Get an FSA double and a new BB for when I head to the hills.
- Stick to the double but get the biggest cassette I can find... 29 I think for Campagnolo.
Merci.

- Get compact cranks and 52/36 rings; stick the 50/34 rings on for your occasional trips to the hills; run 52/36 otherwise.
Depending on what you currently have, a new cassette might work better with the two set-ups.
I like this gear calculator, as you get a graphical comparison of two set-ups.

I need a word that I don't know (work-related):
Bod X emails Bod Y to say "You are doing B when we agreed you would do A. You need to fix it by either removing all the B stuff and doing A, or you can give us documentation for doing B."
I want to reply to say that I am happy for them to carry on doing B (I can do that bit) but by saying that I am not saying they don't need to provide documentation (I'm sure there's a word you use in these situations but I don't know what it is)...?

Evidence.

• #63048
Nah not that bit. A word a bit like "notwithstanding" but I don't think that's right.
I can't even ask the question. -

"I am happy for you to continue doing B, provided that you also give us documentation for doing B"

It's not conditional. But that works well enough, thanks.
