Sweet, is it going to be geared?
I had a lot of fun building a mixte for my girlfriend last year -

@PhilDAS yeah sram x4 trigger shifters, 8x3 with 11-34 back and 44-32-22 front.
Debating with myself if I should take it into a shop or somewhere to get the fixed/fucked cup out(the adjustable side is stuck weirdly no idea what the previous owners did to it) or just to leave it how it is(I serviced it from the side I could undo and it's perfectly adjusted where it was stuck).
Should be going in a couple of weeks as I get bits for it and then work on improving it.

Having a good look, it may be that you're right, the only exception is their axle to crown measurement is a little off by 5mm, so quite likely that the Whisky one is correctly measured.
Thank, might go for that, really was looking for a straight fork, but nearly all of them are tapered whether mine is plain ol' straight.

395mm, 1 1/8" straight with mudguard mounts - might do the job too

if I were to pick up a genesis volare 953 for my good bike... would I have to pay NASA money to get it sub-7kgs?
think they're about 1.6/1.7kg for the frame, enve fork probably about 300g?

All approximates but ..
2.1kg frameset including headset and seat collar;
2.3kg groupset (6800) £450;
1.9kg wheels (kinlin XR200 on Novatec Superlight and CX rays with GP4000s and latex tubes) £450 (?);
0.85kg for cheap (deda) finishing kit including saddle; £100
0.25kg Pedals (speedplay); £70In short yes; NASA money to get under 7kg.
Dont bother weenie build with steel/Ti.
And if you insist then Sram Red; Extralite; Tune Mig/Mag + chinese 20mm carbon; Extralite; Arione 00; Speedplay Ti .. you could touch 5.2kg with all that but thats cray ££££

Roberts has been an ongoing project somehow, for the last 2-3 years, but finally I've managed to have only silver parts on it, after installing a record crankset yesterday... That's the problem when you only play with the parts you have in your shed from building and rebuilding your own stable... it takes longer... I'm happy to see it like this. Big thanks to Olly for the wheels!

7.2 kg for 2300£... isn't a bad weight or cost really. I can maybe live w/that for the kerb-appeal of the volare 953. still adequately stiff too, to make it climb well. hmmm
thanks amey
