  • I'm not really sure what effect it might have on the value, but other houses there, assuming they aren't big enough as to block the light, sound preferable to knackered garages and fly-tipping.

A surveyor would be able to predict the potential effect on the price as well, I would have thought.

Looks a good place to buy if you like Forest Green Rovers.

  • Can anyone recommend a conveyancer near west norwood?

  • Yeah, I'm not particularly worried about them blocking the light etc. (there is none to block!) , more about if we come to sell in five years time will we have managed to buy a house that actually goes down in value!

Yep not a FGR fan, but would adopt them as a second team (i'm intrigued how you managed to work out the location?!)

  • Do you even scroll?

Martin Browne was recommended a couple of days ago, he's the official LFGSS conveyancer.

  • I was just being nosey and searched for the road name, I'm still looking for that secret place in London where beautiful properties are affordable, but Nailsworth is not that place.

  • @tommmmmmm
Offices are nowhere near me, and i need to physically go in to an office to get my identity confirmed for some land regsistry documents.

  • Meet me in Tottenham and we'll ride up to Hertfordshire?

  • I've a mate lives in Nailsworth, lovely place.

  • Ha! No that's a long commute! I'm really torn as its such a lovely house and cheaper than anything else like it, probably because of the massive uncertainty around it.

It's this place - wonder how much this would be if it was in London?!

  • It is indeed, although everything is on a hill!

  • Yeah, there is that. He's an architect with a lovely 4 bed town house that you just wouldn't get here.

  • Eurgh, we need a rule about not posting properties outside of London please. Detached, garage, lovely size, nice interior...

None of that in here please, it's not fair.

  • Sorry! If it makes you feel any better I did live in London for ten years so have done my time...

  • Does he want to sell? ;-)

  • No but if you buy and need work done, he's local. Probably not that cheap though.

  • Nah you don't, go to a post office and pay £7.50 and they'll sign and stamp a photocopy which is a 'certified copy'. Then post that to your conveyancing solicitor.

I just did this as we're splitting our shared garden which involves submitting new plans to the land registry.

My conveyancing/other things solicitor is in Warwick, I wouldn't pay London prices.

  • I need to apparently. Transfering a propery in to my name and the form specifically states i need to take it to a convayencer with passport photos and othe proof of who i am

  • I went to the Gisby Harrison offices, it does involve taking half a day off work, but nice bit of the world... (I cycled from station)

  • I'd definitely check with your solicitor. I was told I'd have to go to a local solicitor to do it, until I mentioned the Post Office service, then I was told that was fine. Legally a certified copy is ok, it's just that the whole system assumes your solicitor is local, which is often no longer the case.

  • Looking forward to seeing that on Restoration Home

  • Linky not working.

  • yes it is

  • yeah it is
guardian property page for more info

sash windows in need of repair ... shudders
    pain in the ass
although i think the tree growing through the rear of the house might be more troublesome

  • Hello homeowners/potential homeowners.

Possibly you are all too busy dealing with solicitors, buying cats and rebuilding walls with polyfilla to look in the classifieds, in which case you would have missed the opportunity to pick up some bargainous but attractive cork flooring:
