  • Falcao to Utd on loan? Be great to see him in the Prem...

  • Be nice to see Falcao playing alongside Rooney, van Persie, Di Maria, Mata, Hernandez, Welbeck and Keane.Perhaps they will play a 2- 1- 7 formation. The 3-3-2-2 doesn't seem to be working.

  • Indeed. This looks like their new formation

  • liverpool spurs, wasn't great viewing from the spurs side, but not as uncomfortable as the previous batterings.
We're still short creatively going forward, but Lamela was willing if not completely effective. We're short of game changers off the bench, we had dembele, kane, townsend and holtby as the attacking subs, and they won't put the fear into anyone. Dembele has regressed somewhat, still plays too deep, and holds onto the ball just a moment too long, but his strength on the ball is amazing.
Eriksen had a quiet game, the interplay between him, Lamela and Chadli looks like it could go somewhere, but right now we don't have that incisiveness that made Liverpool the better team.
Kaboul and Verts put us under pressure, but played half decently, first goal was soft, feel like Lloris coulda/shoulda saved Sterling's effort, penalty really killed us coming straight after half time, but it was soft as, and then Townsend losing the ball to moreno, who ran away from him and scored a beauty.

All in all, disappointed, but progress has been made and it's only the third game of the season, so hopefully we'll kick on from there...

  • Van Persie needs surgery and will probably never play a full season again. Hernandez and Wellbeck are probaby leaving. Rooney is overpaid, undermotivated, self-interested, undisciplined and increasingly slow. So I can see why they'd get Falcao in. Although clearly they need defenders and midfielders much more.

  • United need a fucking miracle

  • Liverpool fans, talk about your own team, stop getting so fucking cocky.

  • Chelsea and the Everton fan(s) decreed that talking about your own team is not the point of this thread

  • Are United taking Falcao purely to stop anyone else getting him?

  • When is it okay to start feeling sorry for Man Utd? I still don't feel sorry for Leeds, but I do see clubs like Nottingham Forest and obviously Ipswich as teams who really should be playing at a higher level.

  • lines starting with a 'greater than' denote quoted text
Wonder how many chelsea fans thought 'el niño' meant 'the number nine' ? Quite a few i bet

  • At least they can quote properly though

  • I'd rather see a strong United, Arsenal, Everton and the like than the nouveau riche rabble that currently dominate.

  • @Buckaroo take yer medicine... everyone gets a piece

  • liking Micah Richards to Fiorentina, chance for a young english player to learn their craft abroad, rebuild reputations and all that.
not liking so much Jermaine Defoe to QPR rumours, why????
Falcao to Utd doesn't offend me as much as it should, but it would be great to see him score some crackers over here.
Small interesting fact, Athletico Madrid's last three strikers once Falcao makes the move will all be playing in the premiership, Aguero, Falcao and Costa. Whoever is the director of football over at Athletico should be snapped up. He's done some great business over the last 5yrs...

  • Why should Ipswich be playing at a higher level? Because they have before? Most of the Championship has played in the Premier League before. Ipswich are a mid-table Championship team (a bit like Derby...) who averaged a home crowd of 17K last season.

I do agree that Leeds can fuck off.

  • [won't bite]

  • Crndog - you fucken troll...

  • And they weren't just shit at the World Cup, Everton have the worst defence in the league...

  • Don't think we'll be doing any more business before the deadline. Rumours of Ritchie from Bournemouth and Russell going the other way seem a bit odd. We've got a strong enough squad to mount a serious challenge this year and they just need to settle into their rhythm.

  • Ipswich should be playing at a higher level because they should. Ramsey, Thyssen and Mühren, Sir Bobby, Richard Naylor...we're a team with pedigree and class.

Plus my first Merlin sticker album was 93-94, and Ipswich were in the Premier League then. Oldham, Swindon, Wimbledon and Coventry are also Premier League teams by right as well.

  • ^ History bore.

  • When they came to our place last season, they were desperately struggling to play at the level they're currently at

  • What do you expect after four years with Roy Keane and Paul Jewell?
