If they don't stock what you need, you probably don't need it...
Nice people too.

They stock what he needs:

Not sure how much fun it would be to pass an adhesive backed tape through that.
-
• #63006
Wouldn't be fun without a bit of hacking, but if you bolted it down to your work bench in the middle of a film winder, you could probably make yourself a reasonably successful rewind slitter, by arranging things such that the adhesive side of the tape never touched the rollers of the slitter.

Approved for home hacking if you only need a few yards of tape. If you want much, go to a converter like http://www.vikingtapes.co.uk/c-620-die-cuts-tape-conversion.aspx
I'd get a quote for conversion before even contemplating a home brew, as tape slitting is a process which can't be all that expensive.

Is the safety standard BS EN 1078 the same as BS EN 1078:1997? The sticker on my helmet says the former but LVV will only let you take your own helmet if it is the latter. It's a Louis Garneau and 2nd hand, possibly not purchased in the UK originally.

EN1078 is an EU standard, BS EN 1078:1997 is the British Standard publication of EN 1078 in English. They are the same. I think only a British helmet manufacturer would use the BS sticker, and they would probably have to use the CE mark too under EU law. I've not seen a BS helmet sticker on a cycle helmet.

Sorry, you're right, just says EN 1078... Must have picked the "BS" somewhere on my Google search and infiltrated my piss poor short term memory.
Thanks! -

@mdcc_tester wot? Scalpel blade + a 4mm packing piece on a flat surface is all you need to slit pvc tape, no need to unroll it you weird bugger.

I'm looking for a cheap, black, 27.2 diameter seatpost. I'd prefer a two bolt design and would like the logos to be removable, i.e., not laser etched. Anybody have and suggestions?

Brand-X - cheap, 2 bolt, no logos, good quality.

Very OT question.
Have a bunch of brass door hinges that have clumps of oil based paint all over them. I put them in a pot of white spirit over night but this barely softened the paint at all.
Is putting them in the oven a bad idea? Or blasting them with a heat gun? Would like them to retain their otherwise shiny properties.
Cheers

Leave them in boiling water (cover them with boiling water) for a while then let them cool until you can handle them. That'll soften the paint then scrape off with something like a finger nail or credit card sort of stiffness.

I need some repairs done to a leather jacket; namely new fabric cuffs, a small repair to a pocket and a small repair to a tear on a sleeve.
Any suggestions for a cheap but quality shop?
I've been quoted £120 by generalleather.co.uk but they're in W1, so I suppose most of that goes to their rent. Anyone further out?
Thanks

I just entered a 10km near London Bridge/Tower Bridge, and then discovered it's the same night as a gig at the Scala which I already have tickets for.
The run starts at 7pm, so both might be doable, is it worth trying? Should I just finish the race and then run all the way up Farringdon road?
Pinstriping tape 3mm usually.

4mm here but seems only to be in 500mm lengths
