She's a nice cat but a hopeless mechanic.
-
• #5953
True... she'll never remove the crown race like that.

Have you petted them yet? The down is so soft and they are quite friendly and fine with being handled.

I've picked one up to help it back into the hen house and yeah, it was kinds of lovely.

Are they all back inside tonight Neil? I'm so sorry you're having such a difficult time with your furball babies.

Are these pets or food/layers?
When the feathers come in the chicks aren't that nice to pet anymore :(
Allegedly, in London, there was chicken rustling going on. Certain breeds became popular and were in short supply,no idea how true it was or just newspaper twiddle.

Girls will be layers, boys will have to go in the pot as we can't keep a cockerel. Better start steeling myself up for that now...

Fleeting visit from James, we got him a variety of new toys to try to tempt him to stay a bit longer:

James is so gorgeous. Happy to donate a new scratching pad to help tempt him to stay as we nicked the last one and I think he quite likes it.

Hah - thanks for the offer, we just need to find one the same locally I think - he did really like that one.

We had all three cats waiting for food this morning at half six, Higgs was very hesitant and ran away when I approached the food bowl, but then came back as I moved away and ate.
She and James legged it directly after eating, and Tesla has just left also, but I think it is progress.

Could you foil thief of james by serving a large number of tiny meals per day ? Some sort of automated dispenser maybe.

The one you posted a year ago of Toby catching up with a frisby on Formby beach is also brilliant.

She is about seven but prior to me rescuing her she had a pretty terrible time. The vet believes she had a fracture of the front leg which the previous owners did not get attention for and she was a bag of bones. So the vet thinks she looks older due to trauma, but the amazing thing is she still has a great trust of humans and probably is the most loving little dog I have ever owned. I really believe when a rescue dog finds a good loving forever home they are more affectionate.
@dragonflyblu A very late reply indeed, but that's because she's a Staff - the most loyal and loving breed to walk this planet. I left home 2 months ago and I miss mine so much :-((((((((( Mine too was a rescue but we've had him for almost 5 years now. The love of my life.
Normal service is resumed, Tesla in the flat, Higgs outside, James at ToJ.
We've just received a load of catnip toys, with which we will attempt to bribe the other cats when they pop in for food.
