Tash - Sorry for my mad slow reply, horrid work times, and thanks for the advice I'll look out for the next Aldi middle aisle excitement. Didn't end up doing the triathlon I planned for in the end, spent my funds going touring instead :p I'm still secretly tricking myself into the swimming distances too just in case.
Miss Mouse - I have the Vulpine shorts(made from same fabric as their trousers) and I highly recommend, I wear them pretty much everyday with no sign of wear and they are waterproof up to the point of relentless wall of rain. Only negative comment is that I had to go a size bigger than I normally would to find them baggy/comfy enough to ride in.
