Not sure how much fun it would be to pass an adhesive backed tape through that.

Wouldn't be fun without a bit of hacking, but if you bolted it down to your work bench in the middle of a film winder, you could probably make yourself a reasonably successful rewind slitter, by arranging things such that the adhesive side of the tape never touched the rollers of the slitter.
