I'm not with him right now. Our paths crossed 20 mins ago while both on bike runs. He said he received my email and that he has the bike, the wheels are buckled. I asked if they could be repaired (I have a truing stand) he said no they were totally gone and that he wanted to replace them.
He was surprised about the worries regarding the bike. He said he works with Bill (bill radios him - they both are at Creative).
He said he will try to replace the wheels and return it in a couple of weeks.
I'd say he was genuine. He made the effort to stop and mentioned my email first before I said anything. If you are still worried maybe get in touch with him via Bill?
