They were at 162.00euro at like three minutes to go and then they just shot up, don't think the owner knew what they were. safe to say I wasn't the winning bid. -

Far away from a bargain. Would you pay 5oo euro for a second hand BLB frame?
-
• #88132
Fair enough, didn't know that. Still pretty though.

..far away from porn too, imho.
I see those quite a lot driving around town, but have not yet seen one that impressed me.
The one you posted is one of the nicer ones though. -

What do you mean by BLB frame? Are they made in the same place or something? Cicli Berlinetta have a bit more taste in how they build and decorate them, there are some very very nice bikes in the shop.

No I do like the CAAD Amey, it's just that bikes look stupid as fuck when they're that small. The Litespeed is a case in point.

There are traction/handling reasons people want short chainstays. But there are other benefits of those adjusters.
With adjuster screws set the rear wheel goes back in exactly at exactly the same place, maintaining clearance to the stays/guards/brake-blocks. It's super useful if you run the frame ss/fixed.
It also allows frame builders to eff up there measurements and still have a usable frame!

The seat stays on the Litespeed mean it's never going to be porn regardless of size.

I meant to compare it to something that makes sense, not just pretty paint job or original price tag.
Shops have very similar history doing same thing in different locations. I have a feeling they are using same, Eastern Europe frame builders. Both have/had nice bikes in a shop but that's got nothing to do with their own brand value.
It's a lower end of Columbus tubing, nothing special frame, so it's not worth the asking price in my eyes, just like most BLB or Foffa produce. -

That Ellis is very nice, but it bothers me that they went to all the trouble with the stainless bottle mounts but didn't provide a front mech mount.

^ this
Quite a contrast between the bulging shimano mount and the bottle bosses...
If for some (photo aesthetic) reason you want have the wheel closer to the seat tube, they are nice to have.
I'm currently hunting for a pair in brass, but have had no luck so far.
