  • Don't own one but seen them when Chris did a launch event at the track.

I think the OE tyres are dual compound so you'd need to change them to ride at Manc and it'd be recommended you change them for any velodrome that doesn't bar bikes with them fitted.

OE handlebars are (again, I think), sprint style with quite a deep drop so you may want to change them for something shallower.

Do I also remember seeing 170mm cranks on at least the larger sizes? Might not need to change that but definitely something to be aware of.

  • Vigorelli can be had for £368 at the moment at kinoko, worth bearing in mind.

    Not a complete bike, surely?

  • No, just frameset

  • I do fancy a Cinelli Vigorelli but the Hoy seems the more value for money option though.

My problem with Aluminium bikes is that I had a cheap nasty Aluminium Fausto Coppi and it was a horrible bike, so my worry about the Hoy Fiorenzuola is that the frame is going to be cheap and nasty like my Coppi was.

    • Dolan Precursa
    • Cannondale CAAD Track due out imminently I think
    • Condor
    • Hinde
    • Secondhand??? There are some scarily cheap track bikes come up forsale.
    • And a number of places have Vigorelli's cheap at the moment.

For Derby you will as a minimum need new tyres on a Hoy.
If you go for a Dolan or build yourself you may end up with a more appropriate bike ready for the boards.

I personally would only ever go tubular tyres on a steep banked track too.

  • I got a Cinelli Vigorelli for £380 from Planet X instead of a Hoy Fiorenzuola btw.
